Today’s review is the first in an intriguing new series, Mysteries of the Other Side, written by George Begg. Over the years I’ve heard people mention “hidden codes” tucked away in the Bible, and although the idea fascinated me, I never really knew what to make of it. I’ve dipped in and out of the Bible before but often found it challenging to follow — the kind of book you feel you should understand more deeply, but never quite do.

This book changed that. It opened the door to a whole new layer of meaning I didn’t realise existed.

AUTHOR BIO

George Begg was born in Scotland in 1956 and moved to England at the age of four. Educated in Surrey, he joined the RAF cadets at school and learned to fly at seventeen, sparking a lifelong passion for aviation. Sponsored by the RAF, he studied Biology at the University of Southampton before serving as a flying instructor and fighter pilot during the Cold War.

After leaving the service, George built a career as a self-employed businessman and

entrepreneur, navigating both success and adversity. A lifelong sceptic and staunch non-believer, his life changed dramatically when God appeared to him as a bright white light—an experience that transformed his worldview and revealed a new purpose.

Since that moment, George has dedicated his life to uncovering the mysteries hidden in

Scripture, guided by divine inspiration. Mysteries of the Other Side: Book 1 – The Hidden Story marks the beginning of a thought-provoking series that explores faith, the afterlife, and humanity’s search for truth.

Book One: The Hidden Story

BOOK BIO

What if the answers to life’s greatest mysteries have been hidden in plain sight all along?

The Bible calls them “The mysteries hidden since the beginning of time.”

What if scripture is not just a historical record but a divinely coded message for the present and future?

Mysteries of the Other Side is not a traditional Bible study; nor is it a rejection of established faith. Instead, it unlocks what the Bible calls “Understanding,” a divinely empowered revelation of deep secrets, which opens our eyes to the unseen spiritual realm, to make sense of life, death, and what lies beyond.

Accessible, thought-provoking, and deeply spiritual, this first in the series is for readers hungry for answers in a chaotic world. These mysteries were hidden by divine design; to be revealed when the time was right for Mankind to receive them. That time has come, and the revelations speak directly to the dangers, chaos and fears of today’s world.

MY REVIEW

This book was absolutely fascinating and opened a completely new door for me — both in my understanding and in the way I look at the Bible. George Begg explores well-known stories such as Noah and the Great Flood, and the Good Samaritan, and reveals a deeper level hidden beneath the surface. He guides you through the riddles, codes, symbols and meanings that have been there all along, showing how one thing represents another and how these layers link together.

It’s a book that takes you into a whole new level of understanding, and although there’s a lot to take in, the author makes the journey easier by including really helpful reference sections. The glossary, Noah’s family tree, and the number and colour code were invaluable — I found myself flipping back to them regularly. I won’t pretend otherwise: there were sections I needed to read twice. But for me, that wasn’t a bad thing at all. I wanted — and needed — to take it all in properly before moving on.

By the time I finished Book One: The Hidden Story, I realised just how much I’d learned. It’s given me a completely fresh perspective on religion, symbolism, and even the spirit world. It’s one of those books that stays in your mind long after you’ve put it down. As George Begg himself says, this is a book for someone with an enquiring mind — and he’s right. Along the way, you learn more about familiar biblical figures such as Solomon, Moses, King David and Jesus, but through a lens you’ve probably never seen before.

George Begg describes this first book as something God asked him to publish — the underlying, hidden story that runs throughout the Bible. Book One delves into the spirit world, the original plan, what was meant to happen, and the many ways things went wrong — and how they continue to be corrected again and again.

It covers a vast amount, but this is only the beginning. Book One lays the foundation for what’s to come in Books Two and Three. It’s definitely a book I’ll be rereading many times. Enlightening, thought-provoking, and deeply interesting, it has left me eager to continue the journey and uncover even more from this remarkable series.

Thank you, George Begg and LiterallyPR, for my copy. This is one book I shall be going back to time and time again!
